How to take care of your lighters:
They are rechargeable!
Make sure you use the correct gas: for refillable lighters like Clippers, use clean butane and refill upside down for about 3–5 seconds. Then wait a bit for the gas to settle!
Always refill in a well-ventilated area with a cool lighter to avoid sparks or unexpected leaks.
Clean with care
Wipe the mouthpiece and body of the lighter with a soft, dry (or slightly damp) cloth to remove any dust or gas residue. Do not use abrasive liquids or over-wet the lighter.
On Clipper lighters, replace the flint when it wears down and clean it to ensure a good spark. On Zippo lighters, pull the wick out from below and trim it if necessary.
Keep it in a handy place
Find a cool, dry corner out of reach of small or furry friends. Don't leave it in the sun or near heat sources, as the gas can expand!
Tip for clamp-lighters:
These tend to have simpler lighters and are more sensitive to heat, so be extra careful!
Don't expose them to direct heat; let them rest between uses so they don't get too hot.
Don't tighten the clamp right after lighting: if it's too hot, it can loosen or leak gas.
When cleaning, wait for it to cool completely and wipe it gently with a cloth without wetting the clamp or the lighter.
If you notice the flame flickering or going out on its own, tap the clamp-lighter (bleed off some gas if it has any) and check that it's not clogged.
Tips to extend its useful life!
Check them from time to time: change the pebbles, purge the gas, and keep them clean.
Kids, keep them away: store them in high places to avoid accidents.
Treat them with care, without bumping or abruptly closing them: the hinge will thank you!
Always let them cool before storing them.
Why pamper them like this?
They always work when you need them.
You prevent leaks and accidents.
You extend their life, save gas, and help the environment.
Your little lighters, happy to live a long life with you.
